Its an idea Nike came up with in the late 80’s, and they’ve just announced the latest innovation to the range: Nike AirMax+ 2013.

The thinking is that by replacing the foam midsole on a shoe with air they could make the shoe lighter and increase its longevity. The 2013 model has new innovations of it’s own including a highly adaptable-engineered mesh upper that helps increase breathability while decreasing weight, a full-length air bag that is more flexible than ever, a Nike Hyperfuse upper that helps make it lightweight and breathable and the Nike Dynamic Flywire which aids in keeping the wearers foot secure.

Also, it’s one of very few shoes that you’ll find AskSteve perving over.
