It’s the last car show of 2012 worth following, and some left the best till last, including Ford, Corvette and BMW!

Ford Fiesta ST
This car is and always will be cooler than the Ford Focus ST and for some pretty simple reasons. It’s lighter and smaller and that means it’s quicker (or feels that way) and more nimble. And that’s the recipe to make any car more fun.

The 2013 Fiesta ST has a tuned 1.6-litre four cylinder engine that whizzes out 146kw and 214 lb-ft of torque. Only available in manual but that’s ok….just look at it!

BMW i3
We’ve already seen the i3 concept, but here it is in Coupe version.

It’s a two-door plug-in electric, part of BMW Efficient Dynamics program and it’s what they call a “Mega City Vehicle”. Mega Cities are like New York or London and Jozi…one day.

0-100 is done in 8 seconds and that’s done on a 126kw rear-axle electric motor. Speed along for 160kms before you have to recharge. And the recharge is not to be feared say BMW, 80% done in just 60 minutes.

Porsche Cayman 2014
The lesser known, liked and driven Porsche is coming out with a new version in 2014, and the time to judge has passed because the price of this Porsche makes it truly appealing. And it has a closed roof so you won’t look like a tonsil.
200kw in the standard version and a massive 241kw in the Cayman S. As always a six cylinder flat six is driving the show and it comes in 2.7-litre or 3.4-litre,

Corvette C7
Granted we don’t know what it looks like yet, but I’m still bloody excited.

They have released this teaser vid and we’ll know all at NAIAS in Detroit in Jan.
