DJ Branko straps booty drum to Twerk Queen Louise’s ass…creates dance track

Audio design company AiAiAi, in an attempt to give their users something new to listen to, have teamed up with DJ Branko and dancer “Twerk Queen Louise” to collab on the “Real Booty Music Project”. Made for the Booty, by the Booty.

The idea was born in the simple request to turn a dancer’s booty shake in to music. Enter accelerometers attached to the dancer’s backside, the movements translate to unique velocities and triggers and the dancer becomes the DJ.

“The booty drum is a device that records movement through accelerometers attached to the dancer’s booty.” technology partners OWOW, say. “These movements translate into a lot of unique velocities and directions of movement. The movements, which are being mapped into unique midi values through Arduino hardware and processing software, can in this way be used to trigger samples and create sounds in Ableton. As every single movement sends out a unique set of values, the dancer is able to play around with sounds.”

The Guitar Pee urinal

guitarpee03

Any man will tell you that there is no bigger thrill than rocking up at a public bathroom urinal and finding a stash of ice at the bottom, just waiting to be melted.

The challenge: how much of the ice can I melt with just one bathroom break? Or better yet, can I do it all.

In Sao Paulo, Brazil they don’t use ice though, they use a whole other sort of rocking out.

The Guitar Pee urinal was an ad campaign to promote the Billborad 100 and the idea is simple: unzip, start playing your solo with the strings connected to an amp above you and then check your Mp3 number on the readout above. Then visit www.guitarpee.com and download an Mp3 of your pee.

You’ll never be so glad to have broken the seal.

This video is doing well on Youtube…wonder why?!?

Japanese professional BMX rider, Kotaro and professional DJ Baku took the best of both of their world’s and married them, the child the Turntable Rider, a bicycle that acts as a DJ deck creating new sounds everytime it’s ridden and every new trick the rider does.

Fader box is strapped on.
The bike wheels, become jog wheels.
The handbrakes, become sound pads.
You mix and scratch at will.
All the music is streamed wirelessly vis an iPhone or iPod

You really have to watch the vid to get it. I also thought it would sound crap but…
