Completed to compete in the World Solar Challenge 2013, Stella is the world’s first solar powered family car.
And when they say family, they mean family. They’ve got space for four people, a fully accessible trunk and touch buttons and LEDs inside instead of push buttons.
The car can do 600 kms on a charge and the photo-voltaic panels on the rood generate more electricity than they use, so there’s a surplus of energy. As the look suggests, they’ve gone for aerodynamics out the exhaust and lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminium.
