A Kickstarter project called ODiN is one of the latest examples of us getting ever so closer to futuristic tech being a reality. ODiN is a mouse, well technically it’s a block that projects a holographic image that tracks your fingers, but mouse is easier to say.

ODiN is programmed almost like a phone’s touchscreen. It can detect two fingers and uses them for gesture support. For example, you can pinch your fingers to zoom in or move them together to scroll. It projects two areas at the top for right and left clicking, as well as a middle button that can be coded to do whatever you want.

ODiN works with a normal USB chord, and while it can’t exactly emulate any gaming mouses, it does have an advantage in that it’s considerably smaller than any mouse. Coming in at 5cm tall and 4cm wide, it will take up much less space than a regular 12cm long mouse.

ODiN has reached it’s goal, but you can still order one off the Kickstarter campaign site. They sell for about R615, and they come in black, grey and green.
