The SLK range receives an all-around upgrade, standard across the range with a muscular front apron, prominent side skirts and rear apron along with a high-class interior and a new 1.8-litre turbo-charged engine.

“Buying trends have shown that there are customers looking for the additional power and torque in a 4-cylinder engine,” says Selvin Govender, Divisional Manager Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Cars. Enter their new 1.8-litre, turbo-charged engine which produces 150kw and 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY slips in neatly between the baby SLK 200 and the meatier SLK 350.

Mercedes Benz has also announced that all new SLK models get the AMG Sport Line highlights. This means standard features like a 5.8-inch colour infotainment display with Bluetooth hands-free, adaptive brake lights, attention assist and electric parking brake to name a few.

Coupled to Merc’s 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, the SLK 250 has an instrument cluster designed in a “chequered flag” layout with black velour floor-mats, red piping and an AMG logo to round off the exclusive interior.

As with all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, the SLK AMG Sport Line comes standard with the class-leading PremiumDrive maintenance package 6-years/100,000 km, with no customer contribution.
