Kawasaki have gone on the tease, this time expanding their absolutely legendary and notoriously quick) Ninja range with the 300HP (217KW) Ninja H2R.

While at this stage it is just a racing prototype, that doesn’t stop me from caking it in my drool and having dirty thoughts about it.

I know it’s only a prototype because you’ll notice no headlights or anything else that’s needed to make metal horses road legal. What it does have though is custom carbon-fibre components recreated to near-impossible tolerances by Kawasaki’s machinery division and a hyper-efficient centrifugal supercharger¬ created by their Gas Turbine division. Read that again. It’s a motorbike….with a supercharger.

Coupling the supercharger with the H2R’s 998cc, inline-four engine means speeds that Ayrton Senna himself would shy away from.

This showpiece for Kawasaki has a finger from almost all their engineers in it, it’s also the first time they’ve ever used a single-sided swingarm to hold the 17-inch rear wheel in place.

News soon on what the street legal version will cost, look like and when it’ll go on sale.
Meantime…perve!
