It’s one thing to buy an extremely expensive car that comes with all the trappings of drinking your coffee and eating your breakfast while it drives you to work, but it’s quite another to take your existing beauty that “saved your life that one time in Mozambique” and turn it into a personal chaffeur.

That’s what the guys at GetCruise.com have in mind.

Get Cruises’ RP-1 kit is a pod mounted on the roof of your car that then relays information received through its cameras and sensors to the cruise computer that is installed into the boot of the car. These sensors and advanced machine vision technology monitor lane markers and other cars in your surroundings, slowing the car down or even stopping it completely if need be.

Controls for the system are mounted on the steering wheel and control of the car can be taken back at the touch of a button.

There are a few downsides:
1 – It’s only coming in 2015
2 – It’ll only work on a 2012 or newer Audi A4
3 – It’ll only work in California where traffic is so bad you’d rather drive yourself anyways.

Still…here’s points for trying.
